Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, Thursday, effected a minor cabinet reshuffle shortly after swearing in six new Commissioners.
The Governor who filled existing vacancies following the recent resignation of three former Commissioners, also created new Ministries.
In the reshuffled cabinet, former Commissioner for Finance, Mike Akpara was redeployed to Ministry of Industry and SME; and replaced with a fresher, Uwaoma Ukandu.
Another newcomer, Prof. Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche was appointed Commissioner for Health; while Ikechukwu Uwanna, retrained his position as the Attorney General & Commissioner For Justice.
Prince Uzo Nwachukwu, Otumchere Oti, and Kingsley Anosike, were all retained as Commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs; Works, and Commissioner for Budget and Planning, respectively.
Information Commissioner, Okey Kanu also retained his portfolio, just like his Lands & Housing counterpart, Mr Chaka Chukwumerije.
The Ministry of Education was split into Basic and Secondary Education, now headed by Goodluck Ubochi; while Prof. Uche Eme Uche, now oversees only Tertiary Education.
Others include Mrs Maureen Ijeoma Aghukwa, Commissioner for Women Affairs; Mrs Blessing Ngozi Felix, Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection.
Mr. Philemon A. Ogbonna is still retained as Commissioner for Environment; just as Prof. Joel F. Ogbonna; Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
Another fresher, Mr Kingsley Chibueze Nwokocha, was assigned portfolio as Commissioner for Trade & Commerce;
Mr Nwaobilor Ananaba, also retained his portfolio as Hon Commissioner for Youth & Sports.
Others include: Mathew Ekwuruibe, Commissioner for Arts, Culture & Creative Economy; Mr David Kalu, Commissioner for Science, Technology & Innovation; and Chimezie Ukaegbu, Commissioner for Transport.
Engr. Ikechukwu Monday, also retained his portfolio as Commissioner for Power & Public Utilities; while Comrade Sunny A. Onwuma, is now the Commissioner for Labour & Productivity.
