Parklane Hospital Commends ODERA Foundation for Settling ₦10m Medical Bills of Indigent Patients

The management of ESUT Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu, has commended the ODERA Helping Hand Foundation for settling medical bills amounting to ₦10 million for indigent patients who had completed treatment but were unable to leave the hospital due to financial constraints.

This commendation was contained in a letter of appreciation issued by the hospital and addressed to the foundation, acknowledging the gesture as a significant humanitarian intervention that assisted several patients whose hospital bills had remained unpaid.

The letter, signed by the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Bethrand A.F. Ngwu, and the Head of Accounts, Onyia S.A. (Mrs.), specifically expressed gratitude to the foundation for clearing the hospital bills of patients amounting to Ten Million Naira.

In the document, the hospital authorities stated that the payment covered the medical expenses of several beneficiaries who had received treatment at the facility but were unable to settle their outstanding bills.

A list attached to the letter showed that the intervention covered 18 patients, including Ugwu Ebechukwu, Okpara Chidera, Omeje Abuchi, Ugwu Chiemeka A., Onugbo Celine, Kalu Ikechukwu, Ugbor Adaeze E., Nnamani Chinasa, Nwauzor Chukwura, Okolo Geoffery, Nwafor Chinelo, Ugwoko Mary, Okwudili Chiagozikam, Anike Lawnta, Aniagoro Chinoyelum, Okeke Jacinta A., Ilo Gloria I., and Okoro Christiana.

According to the hospital, the total amount paid on behalf of the beneficiaries was ₦10,000,000, as reflected in the official record contained in the appreciation letter issued to the organisation.

The hospital management therefore conveyed its appreciation to the ODERA Helping Hand Foundation for the gesture, acknowledging the role the intervention played in settling the outstanding hospital bills of the affected patients.

The ODERA Helping Hand Foundation was founded by philanthropist and community leader Samson Chukwu Nnamani, popularly known as ODERA, and has been involved in various humanitarian interventions aimed at supporting vulnerable members of society.

Through the foundation, Nnamani has supported initiatives focused on healthcare assistance, community welfare, and other social interventions designed to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged individuals.

In the appreciation letter, the hospital also offered prayers for the foundation, stating that God should continue to keep, protect and lift the benefactors higher.
