A former Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Council, Hon. Afam Okereke has described as rumour, the news circulating on the media, which says that he has left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and joined the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Hon. Okereke through a statement made available to AnchorNews media noted that he has received several calls from friends and we'll wishers who tried to confirm the rumour of his defection to APC, hence the need for clarification.
Afam Okereke who is from Obe ward and a former Council Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State pointed out that the situation is a case of mistaken identity and called on the general public to take note of it.
According to Afam, "My attention has been drawn to an ongoing announcement on the media and various APC platform signed by Afam Okereke.
"I wish to state categorically that the said Afam Okereke (AFIMBO) is another individual from Ozalla and not myself Hon. Afam Okereke, former Chairman Nkanu West LGA of Enugu State.
"Let it be established that I am and still remains a strong PDP stakeholder and great supporter of Peter Mbah's Governorship campaign and Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi administration in Enugu State", he concluded.
