Over the years, the people of Enugu State have witnessed different uninterrupted administrations of the People's Democratic Party, PDP. Some have blamed the recent harsh economic conditions on the ruling party in Enugu State, while many others believe the predicament originated from the inability of the federal government to properly manage the Nigerian economy despite all the humongous promises made by the current All Progressive Congress, APC-led administration.

Judging by any index, the obvious fact remains that PDP government has been favourable to Enugu State and a greater majority of Enugu people are still very comfortable with PDP leadership and will definitely vote massively for the party's governorship candidate, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah in the 2023 elections.

Moreso, the people of Enugu State are politically savvy, hence it is very difficult to deceive them into making costly mistake in choosing Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's successor. Enugu State is predominantly a PDP state, and the people have unequivocally made their choice known through the PDP primary election held in May this year, which saw the emergence of Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as the governorship candidate with over 90% of the votes cast in his favor. Apart from the wide acceptance of the PDP in Enugu State, the impeccable character and pedigree of the governorship candidate of the party, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has obviously given the PDP an additional edge over other political parties in the state. 

From the inception of the present democracy till date, Enugu State has been led by core politicians. However, the current economic hardships require an experienced leader with proven integrity and economic prowess needed to rescue the state from the economic quagmire it is facing.

After a critical assessment of all the authentic guber candidates who are competing for the exalted seat of Enugu State governor, one can make bold to say that Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is outstanding and has no match among the contestants. Mbah stands out in terms of having a clear manifesto, proven antecedent, experience, and readiness to deliver good leadership when elected as governor of Enugu State. Mbah is the only candidate who has maintained a focused and issue-based campaign, unlike his counterparts in other political parties who are notorious for throwing tantrums at other contestants. Apart from Dr. Mbah, no other aspirant has been able to present to the public a concrete plan of how they intend to manage the affairs of the office they aspire for. Of course, you cannot give what you don't have. At every fora, Mbah's speeches have always been about his transformation agenda for Enugu State, while his opponents on the contrary seize their own opportunity to attack Peter Mbah's sterling personality. The difference is crystal clear.

The PDP guber flag bearer has proven to be a gentleman who has many attractive and alluring personality traits. From his track record, he has always maintained an open door policy and welcomes good ideas. Such quality, which is rare among political leaders will definitely make a difference in his leadership of Enugu State when elected.

Peter Mbah's campaign strategy and approach are entirely unique and different from those of his counterparts in other political parties who dwell more on condemning the PDP than telling the people what they plan to do for the state. Mbah is the only candidate who has a rich and well-crafted manifesto. At every interface with the electorate, the PDP governorship candidate spends time dissecting his action plan to his audience, while responding to numerous questions bothering on his ambition.

In a nutshell, Enugu State needs a man like Peter Mbah, who will be committed to improving the economic and infrastructural status of the state. Someone who will make deliberate efforts to tap from the rich natural resources of Enugu State to generate income and use same to provide needed infrastructures to the people, instead of depending solely on federal allocation.
