…As Group Inaugurates Ward Coordinators Amidst Fanfare
The mammoth, enthusiastic, and patient crowd spoke volumes. Their support was unalloyed and unwavering. The music was sonorous and soothing, and the atmosphere was vibrant. The venue was Ebeano Stadium, Ogurute, Enugu Ezike, and the date was December 6.
The distinguished visitors were leaders and members of the grassroots-oriented support group of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration, who stormed Igbo-Eze North LGA to inaugurate their ward coordinators, and to further propagate and disseminate the Governor’s ceaseless, transformative, and impactful developmental programmes, as well as the unparalleled infrastructural revolution rapidly reshaping the entire landscape of Enugu State.
Speaking at the epoch-making event, which had virtually everyone from the local government area and beyond in attendance, the Chairman of Igbo-Eze North LGA, Engr. Michael Ogalla Uche, warmly welcomed the team. He applauded the leadership of the movement for their strategic grassroots engagements, eclectic conversations, and dialogical approach. He emphatically insisted that Governor Mbah deserves total and unflinching support from all Enugu people, given the visible and ongoing transformation across the state. He assured that Igbo-Eze North is giving 100% support both to His Excellency and to the movement, noting that the Governor’s projects are already positively impacting the local government.
In his remarks, the President-General of the movement and Personal Assistant to the Governor, Sir Tony Okonkwo, expressed deep appreciation and joy for the overwhelming turnout and steadfast loyalty of the Igbo-Eze North people. He described them as dependable allies and strong foot soldiers who remain key pillars of grassroots mobilization for Governor Mbah’s administration.
He noted that the team originally came to “preach the gospel” of the Governor’s achievements and milestones, but from what he had seen, the people did not even require preaching—their actions already demonstrated their unwavering support. He highlighted the Governor’s landmark achievements, including the construction of 260 Green Smart Schools, the establishment of 260 Type-2 Hospitals, the expansion of strategic road networks, the revamping of Hotel Presidential, and the completion of the International Conference Centre. He emphasized that God has truly blessed the state with the best leader for this season.
Performing the formal inauguration, the Deputy Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Vice President-General of the movement, Rt. Hon. Ezenta Ezeani, praised Governor Mbah’s bold focus on education and youth empowerment, noting the historic 33% budgetary allocation to the education sector. He urged the newly inaugurated coordinators across the 20 wards to serve as credible ambassadors of progress, trusted messengers of the Governor’s vision, and champions of rural transformation at the grassroots.
In his own speech, Chief Damian Chirote (JP, Messiah na Nsukka) assured the movement that Igbo-Eze North has nothing to worry about regarding their support for the Governor. He declared that when the time comes, the LGA will deliver 100% without looking back, because the Governor has earned their loyalty through performance, and because the people of Igbo-Eze North naturally stand with good leadership.
Dr. Chris Onyekachi Simon (Don Chris) appreciated the leadership of the movement and assured them of his maximum support for the Governor and the local government. He promised that Igbo-Eze North would deliver more than expected and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the movement at all levels.
Also speaking, the immediate past Chairman of the LGA, Prince Engr. Ejike Itodo, commended the team for doing the needful by going from ward to ward and from local government to local government to spread the message of His Excellency’s achievements.
