The recent crisis bedeviling the Enugu State chapter of All Progressive Congress, APC has taken a chaotic dimension as the legal adviser of the party in the state, Hon. Barr. Jerry Eneh dissociates himself from the purported suspension of His Excellency, Dr. Ken Nnamani, GCON from the party.

Barr. Ene who made this known while speaking to newsmen in his Enugu residence, Saturday evening called on the general public to disregard the rumor making round that His Excellency Dr. Ken Nnamani and other leaders of the party were either suspended or expelled.

The legal adviser described the rumor as ridiculous, laughable and untrue noting that "the constitution of APC provides that the legal adviser of the party is the head of the disciplinary committee, and as such, I am not aware of any meeting where such issue was discussed".

Barr. Ene who descried the attitude of some members of the party, reassured the public that Dr. Ken Nnamani who is one of the pillars of APC in Enugu State remains an active member of the APC and not under any disciplinary actions.
According to Barr. Ene, "there are rumors going round that some of our elders in the party in the persons of His Excellency, Senator Ken Nnamani, Joe Mamelu, Maduka popularly known as 'Mama' and others were being threatened to be expelled from the party. I want to state categorically clear that I, Barr. Jerry Ene, the state legal adviser of APC is not aware of such move and I never attended any meeting where such issues were discussed.

"The APC constitution made it clear that the legal adviser should head the disciplinary committee of the party. But in this case, you cannot bring somebody that is my deputy or assistant to head the disciplinary committee of a party where they plan to expel our leaders from the party. I want to state that I am not aware of it, and I dissociate myself whole and entirely from such move.
The APC chieftain while calling on members of the party to shun the habit of insulting party elders, added that his joining the APC was greatly influenced by the impeccable character of Dr. Ken Nnamani whom he said has done a lot in making the party a strong opposition party in Enugu State.

"Moreso, in party politics, we don't need to insult our elders, we must make our points without insulting elders. These are the elders of the party that influenced so many people to join the party. When we start insulting them, what do you expect from members of the public? APC is in the grip of collapse in Enugu State, because with such caliber of people being threatened to be expelled from the party, I don't think we will go anywhere. Except there are other things they're doing underground that we don't know. If they have anything whatsoever, let them come and tell the members of the public and stop using people's name anyhow.

"I have been receiving calls from overseas, far and near about this development, hence the need to inform members of the press that I am not aware of any such discussion and I call on the general public to disregard any such rumors of purported expulsion of our party leaders. I put anybody peddling the false information on challenge to come out and tell me where such meeting was held; I never attended such meeting", Ene continued.

"It may interest you to know that I was influenced into joining APC because of the tremendous reputation and character of the leader of the party in the state, in the person of His Excellency, Dr. Ken Nnamani, GCON who mobilized all the who-is-who in Enugu State to give APC an identity. So, coming to say that he's been suspended is laughable. It is more like biting the finger that fed you. This is a man that has spent his wealth, time, political experience and sagacity to ensure that APC is stabilized in Enugu State. But now some members have turned APC into a laughing stock."

Barr. Ene advised members of the APC to pray to reach the enviable height attained by Dr. Ken Nnamani in Nigeria politics and in life instead of trying to ridicule his name. According to him, "...onye fee eze, eze eru ya aka", meaning "if you respect elders you will surely get to the same age."
"What I am saying is that anybody that is dreaming of expelling or threatening to expel His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ken Nnamani, GCON from the party is a joker.

"I advise members of our party to always exercise restraint and give respect to whom it is due. His Excellency is a man of integrity; a man who has kindness flowing in his vein, and once he is committed in a project, he will do everything humanly possible to make sure that the project succeeds. Therefore, that threat of suspension or expulsion is laughable and only exists in the figment of imagination of those that are planning it", Ene concluded.
