Okey Bakassi Becomes Traditional Ruler in Imo, Receives Congratulations from AGN and Celebrities

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has congratulated veteran comedian and actor Okey Bakassi on his recent coronation as the traditional ruler of Umuihuocha Autonomous Community in Mbaise, Imo State.

In a statement issued by AGN National President, Chief Emeka Rollas, the guild celebrated Bakassi’s elevation, recognizing his new responsibility as a monarch.

 “On behalf of the Board of Trustees, National Executive, Congress and the entire members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to one of our Board of Trustees members, recently crowned king of Umuihuocha Autonomous Community in Mbaise, Imo State. Congratulations 💯💯💯,” Rollas wrote on Facebook.

Okey Bakassi confirmed the announcement on his own social media, sharing:

 “NEXT LEVEL……Service to Community.”

The news has sparked a wave of congratulatory messages from colleagues and fans alike. Notable entertainers such as Alibaba, Kcee, Yaw, Acapella, and Frank Edoho took to their platforms to celebrate Bakassi’s newest chapter.

With over 30 years in the entertainment industry, Bakassi is known not only for his comedy and acting but also for his leadership. In 2014, he won Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Best of Nollywood Awards for his performance in Onye Ozi.

Now stepping into a royal role, Okey Bakassi continues his legacy, this time in service to his people.
