The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the timetable for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course, with activities set to commence nationwide on April 22, 2026.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the scheme’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the 21-day orientation exercise will take place simultaneously across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the statement, registration of prospective corps members will begin on Wednesday, April 22, and end at midnight on Friday, April 24, 2026. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 24, while the orientation programme will conclude on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
The NYSC also advised prospective corps members to prioritise their safety while travelling to orientation camps. It cautioned against night journeys, recommending that those unable to reach their destinations before 6:00 p.m. should break their trips and lodge at designated safe locations such as corps lodges, military formations, police stations, or traditional rulers’ palaces.
The announcement follows an earlier directive by the scheme that supplementary online registration for newly mobilised corps members will take place from April 9 to April 11, 2026. This exercise targets candidates whose details were recently uploaded to the NYSC portal but who are yet to complete registration.
Prospective corps members were further advised to prepare all required documents in advance to ensure a smooth registration process.
