Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State on Monday received Enugu State's top scorer in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The 18 year old Master Ernest Ifeanyichukwu Ofoama and his parents, Mr Oliver and Mrs Loveth Ofoama, were hosted by the governor in his office.

Recall that the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has given Ofoama and the top scorers in the 2023 UMTE in the remaining 35 States and the FCT university scholarships as a reward for excellence through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) scholarship programme.

On August 26, 2023, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, they will receive their scholarship prizes.

While congratulating Master Ifeanyichukwu, Governor Peter Mbah said: "We are really pleased of Ofoama because he has inspired other pupils and served as a role model.

"He will receive any further help he needs from my administration in order to pursue his selected field of study - medicine."
