To discerning minds and keen observers of political activities in Enugu state ahead of the 2023 general elections especially as they concern the governorship election, could observe that the only party and candidate engaging the people of the state on issue-based campaign across the 17 council areas, 68 development centres and 260 wards is the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ) and renowned global entrepreneur, Bar. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
Mbah's entrance into the race and his overwhelming choice as the PDP governorship candidate changed the political calculations and permutations of many who didn't see him coming. Mbah's depth of knowledge and level of preparedness for the plum job of Governor with an ambitious and achievable manifesto, which he has continued to engage the people with at the grassroots with a clear leadership direction and economic blueprint for the rapid and collective development of the state has been giving the governorship candidates of the oppositions - All Progressives Congress (APC), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Labour Party (LP) who have no clear manifesto and economic plans, except campaign of calumny, social media mudslingings and fabrication of insidious videos against Mbah goose pimples and sleepless night.
They have become so envious and worried of Mbah's soaring popularity and acceptance across the nooks and crannies of the state ahead of the election, to the extent that they have continued to conjure and fabricate all sorts of social media lies and insidious videos against Mbah, hoping to paint him in a badlight before the people and make cheap political gain out of it.
They and their hired social media bandits are behind all the trending social media campaign of calumny and fabricated videos such as the infamous and mischievous so-called "Ego Ndi Enugu" and orhers against Mr. Mbah, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and other PDP candidates, where they often level unfounded allegations against them without any shred of evidence.
While Bar. Mbah, his running mate, Bar. Ifeanyi Ossai and other PDP candidates have been vigorously campaigning and engaging the voters meaningfully at the grassroots without resorting to name-calling, cheap propaganda and blackmail against anyone, the topic for discussions, attacks and campaign of calumny at any gathering of the opposition parties and social media hirelings in the state are Bar. Mbah, Governor Ugwuanyi and other PDP candidates.
It is obvious that even in the oppositions LP, APGA and APC, the aggrieved and rejected PDP defectors-turned oppositions' candidates are not hopeful, happy and at home. They are highly embittered, fixated and annoyed over PDP's choice of Mbah as their governorship candidate and the support Mbah is enjoying across the state. To them, Mbah is the man to beat in the election and to stop him, they must do everything possible to run him down before the election. Mbah is the most fruitful of all the trees, which they must consistently pluck anyhow to destroy before the election.
Unfortunately for them, the more they try to destroy Mbah with social media propaganda, they more Mbah's popularity soars. The more they try to pluck and destroy him anyhow as the most fruitful of all the trees, the more he bears more fruits. So obvious is the fact that the opposition candidates and their members are not even campaigning for votes or support in the state.
This is because they are not on ground and know that they cannot win, hence they have concentrated attention and dissipated more energies and time in fabricating lies and trying to smear Bar. Mbah and Governor Ugwuanyi's hard-earned images on social media platforms.
It is not out of place that in the days ahead, they will fabricate more inciting and smearing videos and social media lies against Bar. Mbah, Governor Ugwuanyi and other PDP candidates. These usual, outdated and known social media antics of these lameduck and visionless oppositions in the state will not stop Bar. Mbah, Governor Ugwuanyi and other PDP candidates' victories in the 2023 elections in the state.
