...dedicates victory to Alumni Members worldwide

The Convener of the National Debate 2022 and Executive Director of Monday Diamond Foundation, Comr. Monday Diamond Ani has emerged the National Vice President of the Alumni Association of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu in a keenly contested election.

The election which was held on Friday, 7th of April 2022 at the IMT International Conference Center had Alumni Members and Delegates from Lagos, Delta, Imo, Abia, Anambra and Enugu States in attendance.

In the keenly contested election, Monday Diamond Ani who had two contestants step down for him polled 33 Votes to defeat his closest rival Dr. Oliver Ngwoke who polled 26 Votes.

In the Presidential contest, Dr. Mazi Agodi Kanu of Abia State defeated his closest rival, Mr. Frank Ochonma from Lagos State to emerge the National President on the association.

The National Convention/Election also witnessed the foundation laying ceremony of the National Secretariat of the Alumni Association in IMT.

Speaking to AnchorNews after the convention, Monday Diamond appreciated the delegates who came from far and wide to cast their votes for him to emerge as the National Vice President. While dedicating his victory to all the Alumni Members of IMT worldwide, Diamond promised to "synergize with the Executive body for the achievement of a purposeful and collective goal."

In their separate reactions, the outgoing National President, Dr. George Mogahalu who is the Managing Director of Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority(NIWA), Dr. Uche Ogah, fmr Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development and Chairman, Masters Energy Ltd., Chief Mrs Ifeoma Nwobodo (Chairman IMT Governing Council) and Prof. Augustine Nweze (Rector IMT) all commended the exercise and tasked the newly elected body to live beyond expectations by making unprecedented impacts for the projection of the organization and IMT at large.
