Police Arrest 33 Year Old Man for Stabbing His Wife

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested one Ibrahim Abubakar, a 33 year old man, for stabbing his 25 year old wife, Hajara Sa’adu to death.

The suspect, Ibrahim Abubakar, a resident of Sabon Gari-Futy in Girei local Government Area of Adamawa and a butcher is said to have subdued his wife by stabbing her severally with a sharp knife on her back causing her severe injuries and left her in a pool of blood.

This is made known in a press statement issued by the Adamawa statw Police Public Relations Office, Suleiman Nguroje, Tuesday in Yola.

The state reads, “The suspect brutally killed the deceased at about 4:30 am, on the 8th of April, 2024 after he accused her of taking away his phone which led to arguments between him and his late wife.

“The suspect was apprehended following a report filed in to police by the father of the deceased and preliminary investigation conducted leading to the recovery of material evidences at the scene of the crime which is linked to him (Husband now Suspect).

“The suspect voluntarily made a confessional statement, adding that that he regretted killing the mother of their only child.

“The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, while expressing disappointment over the unfortunate incident, assured that the Command will diligently prosecute the culprit.”

The statement adds that, “Meanwhile, as part of the command’s effort in tackling Criminal activities and other related offences in the state, the CP Damkwambo, has directed Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of SCID to investigate beyond and ensure the law takes its course.

“He equally calls on the citizens to always report people of suspicious character around their neighbourhoods to the police.”
