Why some few inconsequential and marooned Labour Party adherents and apologists from Enugu North Senatorial zone and Isi Uzo LGA, who were deceived, extorted,  misled and assured of Labour Party forlon governorship election victory in the 2023 election in Enugu State that never come to realization, have continued to attack, demean, malign and demonise Governor Peter Mbah and his predecessor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on social media platforms in anger and envy over their painful loss of the election is unfathomable, despite the fact that the Southwest and SouthSouth political bigwigs, who worked for the Labour Party in the 2023 elections have since dumped the party and are already aligning and closing ranks with their brother, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

They are doing so in droves and hurry to avoid being left behind in the governance and development of the country ahead of the 2027, while the Labour Party apologists in Enugu North Senatorial zone are  still dwelling in the past and building castle in the air in the name of opposition politics and constructive criticisms.

If the Enugu North Labour Party's social media urchins and apologists have political sagacity and foresight, they would have known that the unfolding political events and developments in the Labour Party in last few months are clear indications and evidence that Labour Party is in disarray and may not survive the tsunami that has hit it at all levels ahead of 2027 general elections.

Recall that on January 22nd this year, the former Director General of Peter Obi 2023 Presidential Campaign Organization and former spokesman of President Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr. Doyin Okupe resigned his membership of Labour Party, citing ideological differences. Okupe was Obasanjo's close ally and benefactor, and Obasanjo was supportive of Obi's presidential ambition in 2023.

On May 14, 2023, former National Deputy Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Olabode George, who vowed and threatened of going to exile before 2023 elections, if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu became President of Nigeria had reconciled with President Tinubu and declared that he had no personal grudges against him.

In the same vein, the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi had on June 6, 2024, made it very clear to the crisis ridden national leadership of Labour Party that the Obidient Movement is not a directorate in any political party and will never be. His declaration affirmed the widely held belief that it was Obidient movement which came into existence because of Obi's presidential ambition that made unpopular, accidental and obscure Labour Party candidates to win the 2023 elections on the platter of gold.

Also not too long ago, former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who was a staunch supporter of Obi's presidential ambition in 2023 was a guest to the first Lady and wife of President Tinubu, Senator Remi Tinubu. It could be observed that since after Tinubu's emergence as President, nothing much has been heard from Obasanjo.

In a related development, the foremost actor and former spokesman of Obi 2023 Presidential Campaign Organization, Barr. Kenneth Okonkwo described Labour Party national leadership as a secret cult, lamenting the party's inability to conduct a transparent national convention.

Since these ugly political events unfolded and still unfolding in the Labour Party and the polity, most Labour Party diehard apologists and the crisis ridden national leadership of the party are yet to utter  a word or address the fundamental issues at stake in the party, affirming the notion that the party is in disarray and may not sustain its momentum till 2027, and that if the national leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)  will not take over the running of their party.

While the above-mentioned, which are true position of things in Labour Party and polity call for introspection and sober reflection for their members, the Enugu State Labour Party social media apologists, mobsters and montebanks largely from Enugu North Senatorial zone are still living in fool's paradise and building castle in the air by engaging continously in campaign of calumny and social media propaganda and falsehoods against Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and his predecessor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and other PDP leaders in the state, who are far above them and their paymasters politically and are in several ways consolidating towards 2027 general elections in the state.
