The forum of the Enugu State Project Coordinators (SPC) has sent its congratulatory message to the governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, over his victory at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, saying it’s a victory for democracy, good governance and a reaffirmation of the people’s decision at the March 18, 2023 gubernatorial election.

In a press statement signed by the SPC over the weekend, the forum noted that the governor’s victory at the elections tribunal up to the Supreme Court only showed that Mbah was not only qualified but duly elected by the majority of accredited voters at the polls.

The coordinators, who represent different World Bank projects as well as other donor agencies initiatives reassured the governor and the people of the state of their unalloyed and unwavering support and commitment to assist his administration in actualizing his programmes and policies.

The statement, read by the Secretary to the forum, Dr. Ifeyinwa Elizabeth Nnajieze, commended the court for ensuring that justice was done and dispensely according to the letters and spirit of the law of the land.

“We want to congratulate and celebrate with the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, over his God’s given victory and its reaffirmation by the apex court of the land. The Supreme Court had only reiterated the people’s decision and choice at the polls. This is a true democracy in action. We also want to send our felicitation to the good people of Enugu State for this good news.

“It is our solemn desire to recommit and reaffirm our unalloyed support to the Governor in ensuring that his vision and mission for the state, which also align with different projects' development objectives, are achieved and attained within the shortest possible time.

“We’ll continue to partner in all respects for the greater good of the state. It’s our prayers that God will continue to strengthen the governor and his team as the journey to transform the state takes a new definition and a new beginning. It’s only a new dawn. The storm is over for the greater glory of God,” part of the state reads.

Dr. Nnajieze, who presented the draft copy of the statement signed by the Chairman of the forum, Dr. Edward Isiwu and other members of the group at their end-of-the-year project review meeting, also commended the governor for his timely intervention in paying the different project counterparts fund and providing an enabling environment for the World Bank projects and other Donor Agencies projects to thrive in the state.
