As one of the proactive measures in fighting fire outbreaks, fire prevention, control and suppression in Enugu State during the Dry/Harmattan season and beyond, His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, has donated Fire Ball Extinguishers  worth millions of naira for distribution to all markets in the state. 

A press statement released by the Chief Fire Officer of the state, Engr. Okwudiri Ohaa (FNSE) stated that the Fire Ball Extinguishers are expected to act as palliatives incase of any fire outbreak in the markets.

Ohaa who noted that 43 major markets across Enugu State are going to benefit from the fire prevention equipment informed AnchorNews that the distribution process, which is expected to commence on Friday, 13th January, 2023 will be handled by the State Fire Service.

According to the statement, the first batch of markets selected to benefit are:

The Fire Service boss also stated that "distribution of the Fire Ball Extinguishers will take place at the newly constructed Fire Service Headquarters, near Otigba Junction, Enugu by 12pm on Friday, 13th January, 2023.

"To this effect, the chairmen of the benefitting markets are to come with five members of their executive for collection of the extinguishers", Ohaa added.
