NSUKKA, ENUGU STATE - The Domitila Foundation for Women Empowerment will distribute 1,000 blood pressure (BP) machines during a free medical outreach scheduled for October 10 at the Urban Girls Field, Nsukka.

The outreach will bring together medical doctors and other healthcare professionals to offer residents free BP and blood sugar checks, medical consultations, general assessments and health education.

The initiative is aimed at promoting early detection of hypertension, which can occur without noticeable symptoms and, when uncontrolled, increase the risk of stroke, heart disease, kidney damage and vision problems.

The organisers said the distribution of the BP machines will enable beneficiaries to monitor their blood pressure regularly at home and seek medical attention when necessary.

Residents of Nsukka and neighbouring communities are being encouraged to attend the programme and invite family members, friends and neighbours.

The event holds on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Urban Girls Field, Nsukka, Enugu State.
