A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has sentenced Olukeye Adeayo Olalekan to a total of 76 years behind bars for multiple cybercrimes and financial fraud.

Justice Alexander Owoeye delivered the judgment on Thursday, convicting Olalekan on all 18 counts of child pornography distribution, cyberstalking, money laundering, and obtaining property by false pretenses — charges brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Initially pleading not guilty at his 2023 arraignment, Olalekan’s trial featured testimony from five EFCC witnesses, including investigators who helped expose his criminal schemes.

Investigations revealed that Olalekan ran fake social media accounts — posing as a woman from North Carolina — to deceive and extort victims via Snapchat and Instagram. He threatened to leak explicit images of minors and scammed people through fraudulent transactions involving gift cards and crypto.

The sentencing reflects violations of Nigeria’s Cybercrimes Act, Advance Fee Fraud Act, and Money Laundering Act.
