The Office of the former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has observed with utmost shock the mischief of some desperados, who tried to use the Senator’s name to confer legitimacy on their purported endorsement of the Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Enugu State, Chijioke Edeoga, supposedly by Oganiru Enugu, Enugu West Senatorial District.

This is not only false, but also most wicked and insensitive to the Senator and the entire Ikeoha political family at their most trying time.

Ikeoha’s position on the governorship project of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Peter Mbah, has never been in doubt. All Senator Ekweremadu wants is the best for Enugu State and he had always tipped Dr. Mbah as a superlative governorship material even during the jostling for the PDP governorship ticket.

Furthermore, Ikeoha issued a statement dated June 6, 2022 wherein he clearly endorsed Mbah and pledged the support of his political structures to him. By his approval, Oganiru Enugu formerly endorsed Dr. Peter Mbah in November 2022.

It will interest Ndi Enugu to know that these men who use Ekweremadu’s name for this political trade have not had any personal contact with him since June 2022. They have never cared to visit him nor show any form of concern.

In any case, we know that while the true colours of loyalty and character manifest best under the scorching suns of trials and tribulations, there are always men, who stand for nothing, except their selfish interests.

Therefore, we urge our supporters to ignore them and their treachery and come out en masse to vote for Dr. Peter Mbah of the PDP as the next governor of Enugu State come March 18.

He has what it takes to build a new Enugu State of our dreams as espoused by Ekweremadu.
