What is usually mentioned is his good background. Reporters of his sojourn so far hardly give an account of his checkered history of challenges and tribulations and how he has emerged from each of them stronger, smiling, and smoother.

Dr. Peter Mbah who have just been elected the governor of Enugu state on the March 18, general election today is no doubt privileged from birth. As an entrepreneur, industrialist and investor in the nation's oil and gas downstream sector. However, he has over the years proved to be a higher notch above others unlike him born with silver spoons in their mouths. 

He had sustained and surpassed the legacies found in the matured sector he played in as an oil magnet owing to the fact that he came late into the industry and took over the lead. He has over the years proved that while his family values helped in his development, he has produced personal brilliance, sheer guts, the courage of convictions, the ability to withstand tribulations, and the ingenious capacity to think outside the box as a way of tackling the challenges that have often been thrown at him.

Unlike children of other aristocrats, Mbah has proved over the years to those who deliberately go out to hurt him because of their disdain for the opportunities that nature had bestowed on him, that when you take him for granted you do so at your peril. 

When he emerged as the winner of the just 2023 Enugu gubernatorial election, and had been returned elected having collected his Certificate of return, it was because he was brilliant enough to earn the massive support, trust and confidence of the people even before the election.

This young entrepreneur again became the standard bearer and upholder when his interest to be governor gathers more momentum, then some group chose to punish treachery and instigate propaganda against him. It was an election in which these never to do well politicians in the state deployed all weapons, tricks, and tactics in their arsenal. There was palpable fear that this great innovator could be assassinated in character. Yet, many were surprised by his resilience, adaptability, and courage. 

Mbah was elected as Governor of Enugu state. The challenge was daunting, discouraging, and depressing. Yet, he remains unfazed. He set his focus on attracting industries, investors, investments as a roadmap to put things on track the moment he assumes office by May 29, 2023. Thus, his administration has proposed investing heavily in infrastructure, create jobs and industrialize the state. 

Public education will have a radical reform that will ensure not only the quality content will be taken care of but that quality services can be provided. Enrollment will increase more and better trained teachers will be engaged, international assistance will be sought in reviewing the curriculum, the continuous training and performance monitoring system will be put in place.

Dr. Mbah is already making genuine efforts to attract industries, revive moribund state owned enterprises, rebuild infrastructure, tackle security challenges, and ensure regular power supply for industrial and domestic use. His administration's programme is aimed at encouraging commercial farming as an idea to diversifying the state economy, an invitation to grow her IGR. Mbah's job as governor will be that of a pathfinder. The one who want to lay the concrete foundation for the state economic prosperity.
