The Enugu State Government has announced the commencement of a statewide survey revalidation and digital land transformation exercise, aimed at strengthening property security and boosting investor confidence in the state’s land ecosystem.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Lands and Urban Development in collaboration with the Office of the Surveyor General, introduces a digitally secure and tamper-proof survey system for all government layouts. Areas covered include G.R.A., Golf Estate, Golf Annex, Independence Layout, Trans Ekulu, New Haven, and other designated estates.

According to the Ministry, the programme is a key component of Governor Peter Mbah’s Digital Land Transformation agenda, which seeks to enhance transparency, eliminate land disputes, and ensure certainty of land titles.

The revalidation exercise will run from August 21, 2025, to February 16, 2026, during which landowners and stakeholders in the affected layouts are expected to visit designated offices to process their Digital Land Identity and secure their property rights.

Speaking on the development, the Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Barr. Chimaobi Okorie, assured residents that the move will modernize Enugu’s land administration system and create a more investor-friendly environment.
