Isi-Uzo Youths Global Movement, a body comprising all the youths of Isi-Uzo (both home and abroad) has today lampooned the immediate past president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo on the divisive comment made in Igbo-Etiti local government area.

Chief Nwodo while soliciting support for his son-in-law, Chijioke Edeoga who is the guber candidate of the Labour Party in Enugu State ahead of the March 2023 guber election, had told his people that Isi-Uzo is more of Enugu North than East.

He went as far as reminding the people that in the old state structure, Isi-Uzo was in Nsukka and the Nsukka Zone was able to produce only one governor during the said era. He stated that it is now the time for Nsukka people to take their pound of flesh by allowing Edeoga to serve them as the next governor of the state.

In line with other criticisms trailing his comment, the youth president general, Engr Jude Eleobi, popularly known as Santos, equally condemned the statements from Nnia Nwodo and alleged that his ambition was to cause their brothers from Enugu East to see Isi-Uzo people as a product of a forceful marriage between two unwilling bedmates.

Engr Eleobi further maintained that every effort of Nnia and other desperate politicians to cause a strained relationship between Isi-Uzo and their brothers from Enugu East must certainly meet a dead end as Isi-Uzo people have never questioned their existence in the present political structure of the state.

“The problem we have in our politics today is not the youths but the ilk of Nnia Nwodo who have refused to retire from active and partisan politics, but choose to create dissension in the society through throwing around inciting words. What else could we have expected of Nnia other than causing disunity among the three senatorial zones when he couldn’t pull the entire Igbo race together as Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General?

What can we boast of Nnia Nwodo who could only showcase his eloquence in a meeting with top Nigerian politicians but end up actualizing nothing for the Igbo race? Under his watch Ohanaeze Ndigbo was factionalized till this point. His mates in other climes are playing consultative and advisory roles, but here is our own former president general looking for a politician to perch on his shoulder. Isi-Uzo has fared well under Enugu East and will resist every plot of Nnia to cause rancor among us,” Eleobi stated.

In his other statements, Engr Jude Eleobi also lashed on Chijioke Edeoga for being a puppet in the hands of his in-laws and challenged him to tell the world what they (Isi-Uzo people) have benefitted from him as the most favored political appointee in the local government council.
