Residents and stakeholders from Udi and Ezeagu Federal Constituency have expressed strong support for recent political decisions by Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing them as strategic and reflective of the people’s aspirations.
In a statement made available to AnchorNews, the community commended the allocation of the senatorial ticket to Osita Ngwu and the House of Representatives ticket to Festus Sunday Amaechine Uzor, noting that the move signals a deliberate effort to prioritize competence, grassroots connection, and effective representation.
The group described the decision as timely, adding that it demonstrates a commitment to rewarding merit and restoring public confidence in leadership within the constituency.
Reflecting on past electoral outcomes, the stakeholders recalled that the defeat of Dr. Uzor in the previous election cycle left what they termed a “representation gap” in Udi/Ezeagu. According to them, expectations were not fully met under the current representation led by Sunday Umeha, further underscoring the need for experienced and people-oriented leadership.
They emphasized that Dr. Uzor’s track record of accessibility, development-focused initiatives, and community engagement has continued to resonate strongly with constituents, positioning him as a credible candidate capable of delivering tangible results.
“The re-emergence of Dr. Uzor on the ballot brings renewed hope and a clearer direction for our people,” the statement read, adding that his candidacy has already begun to energize political participation across Udi and Ezeagu.
The constituents also praised Governor Mbah and the APC leadership for what they described as their responsiveness to grassroots opinion, stating that the decision has strengthened unity and boosted confidence in the political process.
They pledged collective support for the party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections, expressing optimism that the renewed alignment between leadership decisions and public expectations would translate into electoral success and improved representation.
Observers note that the endorsement from Udi/Ezeagu stakeholders could play a significant role in shaping political momentum within the constituency as campaigns gradually build toward the next election cycle.
