The Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah was inaugurated on 29th May 2023. The brand new Governor is unarguably the best man for his new job, having demonstrated his capacity as the founder and CEO of Pinnacle Oil Nig. limited.
Mbah who is well known as a disruptive innovator, technocrat, marine expertise, entrepreneur and intellectual business mogul is expected to apply all his wealth of experiences in making Enugu an investment destination in the southeast. His antecedents and track records triggered the interest of Enugu people, who eventually gave him their mandate under the umbrella of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Since the return of democratic rule in 1999, Enugu has been controlled by the PDP and won every elective position in the state until 2023 general election when the jinx was broken as a result of the Obidient Movement effect. Despite the new normal, Mbah seems determined to deliver on his campaign promises of transforming Enugu State into one of the best three state in the Nigeria.
Mbah had recently in a press briefing after meeting with the state security chiefs, assured the citizens and residents of Enugu State of thier safety, as he called on them to shun the long existing but unfavorable Monday sit-at-home witnessed in the southeast states.
To this effect, part of what is expected of the new Governor is to provide adeququate arms to the security agents, encourage community policing to maintain peace and order at the village level, and work closely with the local government Chairmen in the state. Doing so will help reduce insecurity drastically. Despite the efforts of the past administration, greater number of Enugu people still believe that the leadership of former Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi performed below expectations, hence, the need reason why the incumbent Governor Peter Mbah is now seen as a saviour who has come to change the status quo.
Enugu State has been facing the challenge of water scarcity for some decades now. However, hope beams as Mbah has promised ndi Enugu that he will solve the problem of water in 180 days, by ensuring that pipe-borne water is reticulated to various homes. With such promise and believing in the gogetter spirit of Mbah, water scarcity will be a history in Enugu metropolis in no distant time.
Bad roads, epileptic electric power supply and infrastructural decay are other areas that Mbah's administration is expected to tackle head on in the early period of his first tenure. Mbah having gone round the 17 local governments areas of the state during his campaign town hall tour assured ndi Enugu of his administration's resolve to tackle their peculiar needs. His idea of creating a ring-road in the state for easy transportation of people and farm products is going to be a pleasant surprise when achieved. Indeed our tomorrow Is here.
