A governorship aspirant in Enugu State, Samson Chukwu Nnamani (ODERA), has reaffirmed his intention to run on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), as he outlined a reform-driven vision for the state and highlighted his role in strengthening the party ahead of future elections.
Speaking to journalists in Enugu, Nnamani said his ambition is anchored on a commitment to reposition the state through practical governance, while contributing to ongoing efforts to rebuild the PDP as a dominant political force.
He noted that beyond seeking office, he has been actively sponsoring party activities and supporting grassroots mobilization across the state, describing the PDP as “a platform with the structure, experience, and grassroots connection needed to deliver responsive governance.”
According to him, the party has been reorganized and offers an opportunity to reconnect with citizens and present a credible alternative grounded in accountability and development-focused policies.
On his policy direction, Nnamani emphasized economic revitalization, proposing a shift toward a productivity-based economy driven by agriculture, small businesses, and innovation. He argued that Enugu has the capacity to become economically self-sustaining if its resources are efficiently harnessed.
He also stressed the importance of transparency in governance, pledging to ensure that public funds are prudently managed and tied to measurable development outcomes. He added that his administration would prioritize institutional reforms aimed at strengthening accountability and improving service delivery.
Addressing infrastructure, Nnamani called for strategic investments in key sectors such as roads, power, and urban development, noting that such projects must align with long-term economic expansion rather than short-term political considerations.
The aspirant further identified youth empowerment as central to his agenda, proposing targeted programmes in skills development, entrepreneurship, and digital innovation to address unemployment and promote inclusive growth.
On security, he advocated a collaborative approach involving communities and security agencies, emphasizing that a stable environment is critical for attracting investment and sustaining economic progress.
Nnamani also pledged to deepen participatory governance, assuring that citizens would have a stronger voice in decision-making processes.
“Our mission is to rebuild trust in leadership, strengthen institutions, and create opportunities for all,” he said.
Political observers say his active support for PDP activities, combined with his policy-driven messaging, positions him as a prominent figure in the party’s strategy to regain political dominance in Enugu State.
