As the Enugu State Election Tribunal prepares to commence hearing of petitions submitted before it by different political parties seeking redress, the Labour Party governorship candidate, Chijioke Edeoga has continued to lose more of his foot soldiers and frontline supporters. The latest is the exit of Barr. Stanley Asogwa who is one of Edeoga's pen pushers from his camp.

Asogwa who hitherto was known for making negative and unverified posts against the Governor-Elect of Enugu State, Barr. Peter Mbah on social media, decried the desperation of his former principal, Edeoga in "chasing after an impossible goal of recovering a non-existing mandate", stressing that some of Edeoga's followers are becoming tired of the endless lies and propaganda being manufactured by his former camp against the People's Democratic Party, PDP and her governorship candidate.

The Kwara State based legal practitioner, while narrating his sad experiences to newsmen in Enugu earlier today noted that he has "endured more than enough in defending and fighting for what I know is unrealistic". According to him, "some of us who are close to Chijioke have tried to advise him to renege on the wild goose chase of trying to recover a non-existing mandate, but he is too stubborn to heed to good advice."

Barr. Asogwa, who sounded exasperated as he recounted his losses since he joined Edeoga's camp, told the press that he has lost a lot of clients and resources as a result of his commitment to Edeoga's ambition. He explained that at a point, some of them who were promised vital positions in the vague government of Edeoga had to sell their properties to invest in the white elephant project.

"I left my chambers for close to a year now and relocated to Enugu because Chijioke Edeoga convinced me that there was an unbeatable plan on ground to wrestle and takeover the seat of power by all possible means from the ruling PDP in Enugu State. Chijioke went further to assure me that I would be the Attorney General of the State by the time he win the election. I had no reason to doubt him after he disclosed part of the strategic plan to me.

"To be honest, PDP and Peter Mbah survived the last election by God's grace, because Edeoga's camp really went too far in a bid to win the last election. There are top secrets I can't disclose to you right now, but a lot of dangerous moves were made, conspiracy and propaganda worked perfectly well, but God decided to give power to whom he desires", he narrated.

When asked to compare the personalities of Enugu State Governor-Elect, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and that of the Labour Party governorship candidate, Chijioke Edeoga, Asogwa insisted that "there is no ground for comparison. Despite the fact that we did all we could to destroy Peter Mbah's reputation and de-market him before the electorates, we are aware that Mbah is an excellent material for governorship at this time of economic quagmire. He has what it takes to progressively steer the leadership of Enugu State. Edeoga's character and attributes are almost the opposite of Peter Mbah's sterling qualities, but for the sake of our interest, we had to do what we did", Asogwa concluded.

Recall that the Labour Party governorship candidate in the 2023 election, Chijioke Edeoga has been widely accused by several social media handlers of being a sadist, incompetent, fraudulent, and sponsoring most of the negative attacks on the Enugu State Governor-Elect, Dr. Peter Mbah. Recently, Sahara Reporters published a report titled "Alleged N2billion fraud: Lawyers petition anti-graft agency, EFCC to probe Enugu Labour Party candidate. The group fingered Edeoga in "LG News Magazine" scandal, where it was alleged that he embezzled huge amount of money belonging to Enugu state government.
