The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Enugu State has congratulated the Governor-Elect in the state, Dr. Peter Mbah, over his victory at the March 18 governorship poll, saying it’s victory for the people who saw hope in his manifesto and programmes.

The apex students body made this known in a congratulatory message jointly signed by its chairman, Comrade Ikechukwu Emmanuel, and its secretary, Comrade Nwobodo Emmanuel, adding that it was not surprised that Mbah would clinch victory because of their conviction in his manifesto, achievements and personality which inspired them to vote en masse for him. 

The body further expressed confidence that their decision to vote for Mbah on March 18 would forever alter the governance trajectory of the state, attract good governance, restore the hope of the common man, remodel education and make the state great again.

The message reads: “The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, cannot in words express the joy and happiness that has prevailed the students community since Peter Ndubuishi Mbah was declared The Governor-Elect of Enugu State. Understandably, our higher institutions are the intellectual gardens of our society, and as such, it was so easy for the Mbah’s lucid manifesto, achievements and personality to resonate with us.

“The hope that the Mbah’s manifesto inspired in us was what drove us in our numbers to cast our votes. It is a hope for an Enugu that works for all, an Enugu with constant water supply, an Enugu where young persons are meaningfully engaged, an Enugu where remarkable premium is placed on Education and an Enugu that lights the way for the rest of Southeast. These hopes drawn and fuelled by the Peter Mbah’s manifesto was not cut short as our tomorrow is finally here.

“The Enugu State leadership of the apex students body, The National Association of Nigerian Students wish to on behalf of the entire students of Enugu State convey a hearty congratulations to the Governor elect of Enugu State, His Excellency Peter Ndubuishi Mbah, the entire Enugu people and all lovers of progress. We have all listened and read the acceptance speech and we are confident that the decision we have made shall forever alter the destiny of our state. Enugu shall be great again.
