Empowerment: Hon. Okoh Distributes Gift Items To Widows And Indigents

Says The Year Event Is A Divine Instruction.

For over 5 years now, Hon. Chidiebere Okoh, former councillor, Amodu ward had consistently reached thousands of widows, Indigents and vulnerable through his yearly empowerment programme.

This year's annual event hosted at Amodu Health centre seems to  be the largest as the number of beneficiaries tripled. 

Hundreds of bags of rice, wrappers and other gift items were distributed to beneficiaries select from the 14 wards of Nkanu West LGA.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Okoh thanked God from his blessings, provisions, strength over the years for the enablement to continue with this laudable empowerment programme stating that the call is divine and instruction from God to help the poor, widows, widowers, venerables and the Indigents.

Hon. Okoh said that the programme is his little efforts to appreciate the what Governor Peter Mbah is doing in the state pointing out massive infrastructure development by the governor.

Okoh made mention of Amodu - Akpugo -  Amagunze - Akpwfu road described the roads as very important roads that has opened Nkanu land for commercial gains.

The philanthropist said that through the empowerment programme he had on yearly basis change uniform by gifting the 14 women leaders of Nkanu West LGA a new uniform and also given over 100 women of Amodu political women a new uniform.

Hon. Okoh said that he equally offer free medical care to the aged by paying for advance medical care noting that health is wealth.

He said that Enugu state is now an APC state while using the opportunity to educate the women to know that " we are all in the same party" a feat he as a wise move from Governor Peter Mbah saying that the state is already reaping the gains of connecting to the centre.

In his brief remarks, the senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District, Senator Kelvin Chukwu noted that Hon. Okoh had distinguished himself with his selfless programm of helping the less privilege saying that the programme is done out of passion to help while praying God to bless him.

Also speaking, the chairman, traditional rulesrs council, Nkanu West LGA, HRM Igwe Barrister Obiora Igwesi called on the beneficiaries to always pray fervently for Hon. Okoh for God's more blessings and protection expressing surprise that the donor carry out this event every year with our any government appointment.

The Igwe elect of Amodu, Chief Modestus Mmaduabuchi Ani prayed for God's continued protection, blessings on Hon. Okoh to continue with this people orientated programme 

The high point of the event was the orderly distribution of gift items to hundreds of people at the event.

Women, beneficiaries were wearing a smiling looks while many other were seen demonstrating different dance steps in excitement of taking home a bag of rice, wrappers or other gift items
