Due to the legal fireworks between Everest Nnaji (Odengene) and Chijioke Edeoga regarding who is the rightful candidate for Enugu Labour Party guber ticket, the party national officials encouraged them to embrace peace and work for the progress of the party in the coming election which will be taking place from tomorrow
The meeting which was chaired yesterday in Enugu by the Labour Party Secretary General, Clement Ojukwu resolved that Chief Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga be enlisted as the Enugu East senatorial candidate of the Labour Party, replacing the late Bar. Oyibo Chukwu, while Chief Everest Nnaji’s name will be shortlisted as the guber candidate of the party in Enugu.
In a remark made before the closure of the meeting, Chijioke Edeoga applauded the Labour Party national headquarters for finding time to settle the dispute between him and Capt. Everest Nnaji, assuring that he shall work assiduously in ensuring that the party wins both the senatorial election and the March 11 guber election in the state.
“Just like it is always said, peace is progress and war begets peace. I have agreed to all that the party has said and promise to abide by it. Capt. Everest Nnaji is my brother and we have come a long way. My team shall work with him to ensure that the party triumphs in the forthcoming elections,” Edeoga assured.
In furtherance, Capt. Nnaji expressed his joy and promised that the victory that is yet to come is the victory for the party and not for anyone in particular. He stated that the March 11 election shall be fruitful as he will not leave any stone unturned in making sure that the party wins all the elections.
