The Day Tomorrow Is Here Movement Landed In Ezeagu

The weather was clement and the atmosphere was charged, electrified and cordial. The music was soothing and energizing. The venue was filled to the brim and secured, as it was obvious that the mobilisation was total and grand. 

The mammoth and enthusiastic crowd made up of indigenes, residents, party supporters, executives, traditional rulers, clergymen, youth organizations, women groups, former and serving elected and appointed government officials and others from Ezeagu local government area and beyond were prepared, seated and eagerly expectant of their guests- the leaders and members of the board of the popular and grassroot support group of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration- Tomorrow Is Here Movement (THM) that stormed Ezeagu, amidst cheers and exchange of banters at exactly 2.30 pm to inaugurate its local government/ ward executives and mobilise organic support for the performing administration of Governor Peter Mbah. 

The event took off with a welcome address by the Deputy Mayor of Ezeagu, Hon. Nkiru Ugwuagu (PhD), who described The Tomorrow Is Here Movement as “a political submarine for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah,” built to sustain and spread the ideals of his visionary governance.

In his opening remarks, the President of the Movement, Hon. Tony Okonkwo, who also serves as the Personal Assistant to the Governor, highlighted the governor’s achievements, particularly the innovation behind the Smart Schools initiative and the efficiency of its integrated smart systems designed to revolutionize education in Enugu State.

A highly engaging question and answer session ensued, where the Deputy Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Vice President of the Movement, Rt. Hon. Ezenta Ezeani took time to enlighten attendees and mammoth crowd about Governor Mbah’s giant strides in all sectors of the state economy, especially in education and health. Hon. Ezeani later performed the official inauguration of the coordinators, commissioning them as “Evangelists of the Good Works of His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.”

Responding on behalf of the coordinators, the Ezeagu Local Government Coordinator, Rt. Hon. Obidinma Okafor, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the confidence reposed on his team, pledging unwavering commitment and collaboration to ensure the success of the movement’s vision.

In his goodwill message, Rt. Hon. Chima Obieze, member representing Ezeagu State Constituency, commended the dedication and enthusiasm of the movement, expressing confidence that THM will continue to effectively propagate the Governor’s achievements and pledged his unflinching support to the cause.

Also lending his voice, the immediate past Chief of Staff, Government House Enugu, Chief Dr. Festus Uzoh beautifully unpacked the essence of the Tomorrow Is Here mantra, describing it as “the urgency of now and the fulfillment of long-time expectations.” He illustrated this with the tangible development across Ezeagu, noting that “the road from NBL through Akama, Aguobu-Owa, and Olo to Umulokpa is Tomorrow Is Here made visible a promise you can see, feel, and touch.”

Major highlights of the event were the presence and support of various political leaders from the local government areas and their supporters, the donation of a Sienna car to the Movement by THM Ambassador, CEO of Tribu Hotel and illustrious son of the local government, Chief Nnamdi Ozor, ably represented by Lagos based businessman, Chief. Dr. Nelson Madu and goodwill messages from the immediate past Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, Senator Ben Collins, Rt. Hon. Ogbuefi Ozomgbachi and other notable leaders of Ezeagu local government area and beyond. 

The event ended on a high note, with renewed energy and commitment among members to continue spreading the message of progress, innovation, and transformative leadership embodied by Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

Chukwudi Amah, Director of Research/Planning - Hon Dr Amaka Ugwueze, Zonal Coordinator Enugu West Senatorial Zone- Hon. Arinze Onoh Zonal Coordinator, Enugu East Senatorial Zone - Hon. Alhaji Sani Friday Nnaji.

Julius Ogbuke, former Deputy chairman Ezeagu local government area, Engr. Cecilia Umeh, Zonal woman leader, Enugu West THM, Chief Osita Chinweuba, (Ossy Motors) and Director THM, Deputy Chairman Oji River local government area and Chairman/ Coordinator of THM Oji River LGA, Hon.
