The Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa, has completed the construction and asphalting of the Odoru Road, marking a significant milestone in the council’s ongoing infrastructure development efforts.
The newly completed road, located in Odoru community within Nsukka LGA, is expected to improve accessibility, ease transportation, and enhance the overall living conditions of residents. The project addresses longstanding concerns over poor road conditions in the area, which had hindered movement and economic activities for years.
Odoru is a strategically positioned community within Nsukka town, situated near Ikenga Estate and accessible from Eziani Road. It comprises both indigenous communities and residents from various parts of the country, making it an important hub within the local government area. The upgrade of the road is therefore seen as critical to supporting mobility and local commerce.
Speaking on the development, the council chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering democratic dividends through targeted infrastructure projects. He emphasized that road construction remains a key priority in efforts to stimulate economic growth and improve the welfare of the people.
Residents and road users have welcomed the project, noting that the improved road network has already begun to ease transportation challenges and enhance daily activities. Many described the intervention as timely and impactful, particularly given the previous state of the road.
The project also aligns with the broader development agenda of the Enugu State Government, which prioritizes infrastructure renewal as a driver of economic expansion and improved quality of life.
With the completion of the Odoru Road, stakeholders say attention is now shifting to sustaining the momentum of development across other parts of Nsukka Local Government Area.
