The Chairmanship candidate of people's democratic party PDP in Nkanu East LGA Hon Sydney Okechukwu Edeh has commended Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC for peaceful conduct of 2024 local government council election in Enugu State especially in Nkanu East Local Government Area. According to him the "I'm very lmpressed at the conduct of voters and ENSIEC officials. asserted that this was the “most peaceful election” he had witnessed in many years.

Hon Edeh who voted at community primary school Obeagu ugbawka called on voters to remain peaceful as the election proceeds.

Hon Edeh, arrived his polling unit in company some party faithfuls, also condemned security agents for professionalism.

On his part, the presiding officer , disclosed that everything was peaceful and under control in his unit, he praised the voters for turning out en-masse.

It was same story everywhere in Nkanu East as people came out in large numbers to exercise their franchise. 

There is heavy security presence at polling units and strategy locations across the state.
