American President Donald Trump has announced that the United States carried out airstrikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran.

In a social media post early Sunday, Trump revealed that U.S. forces targeted nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. This marks the U.S.’s official entry into Israel’s week-long military operation aimed at dismantling Iran’s nuclear enrichment program.

“We’ve successfully completed strikes on Iran’s three nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan,” Trump stated on X (formerly Twitter). “All aircraft have exited Iranian airspace. Our planes dropped a full payload of bombs on the primary target, Fordow, and are now returning safely. No military on Earth could’ve done this. Now is the moment for peace.”

In another post, Trump described the strikes as a “historic moment” and said he would address the American people about the operation. He urged Iran to agree to end the conflict, warning that the country would face further attacks if it refuses to seek peace.

Iranian officials have acknowledged the strikes. According to Tasnim News Agency, Morteza Haydari, spokesperson for crisis management in Qom province, confirmed that parts of the Fordow facility were hit by “enemy airstrikes.” Akbar Salehi, Isfahan’s security deputy governor, reported attacks near the nuclear facilities in both Isfahan and Natanz.

Tehran had previously vowed retaliation should the U.S. back Israel in the conflict. Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had cautioned that any strike on Iran would bring “irreparable damage” to the U.S. Similarly, foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei warned of an “all-out war in the region” if America entered the fight.
