The allegations made by Okey Ezea against Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi are not just baseless but fallacious.

At a recent public event, Okey Ezea who is the Candidate of the Labour Party for ENUGU North Senatorial District accused Governor Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu) of imposing Dr. Peter Mbah on Enugu People as the Governorship Candidate. He also accused Governor Ugwuanyi of nonperformance and refusal to assist the Nsukka People.

Infact, Ezea described Governor Ugwuanyi as a man who hates the Nsukka People and has brought former Governor Chimaroke Nnamani ls Comissioner for Finance as Governorship Candidate.

According to him, whereas Nnamani made a lot of Nkanu People billionaires, Ugwuanyi has not helped any Nsukka person to be rich. He therfore urged Nsukka people to reject both Ugwuanyi and Mbah as Senator and Governor respectively in the impending 2023 general elections.

To say the least, Okey Ezea is misguided, vindictive, envious and incapable of providing leadership at any governmental level or in any Arm of Government.

In making the allegations against Governor Ugwuanyi, Ezea exposed himself as a man with no sense of fairness and justice. This explains why he is up in arms against Governor Ugwuanyi for conceding the Governorship to a man from Nkanu -East

(Peter Mbah). Ezea would have preffered a Governorship Candidate from Isi uzor which was a part of the old Nsukka

Division. Ezea forgets that for sixteen years, Nkanu East neither produced a

Governor or a senator. He forgets that late Senator Isaiah Ani was from Isi uzor, which geographically is a part and parcel of Nsukka.

It is both uncharitable and misleading for Ezea to have accused Ugwuanyi of denying Nsukka infrastructure, wealth and power simply because he insisted that his successor must be chosen on the basis of equity, justice and fairness.

It should be made abundantly clear at this juncture that the decision by Governor Ugwuanyi to support an Nkanu-East man as the next Governor of Enugu State is in keeping with the Enugu State Charter of Equity designed and adopted by the founding fathers of Enugu state. Therefore, Ezea has no regard for truth, history, justice, fairness and the

sensibilities of the marginalised people of Nkanu-East who had to wait for sixteen years before they could produce a Governor.

Ezeals allegation that it was the money that Governor Ugwuanyi made in the House of Representatives that he used to become the Governor of Enugu cannot be substantiated. Also, his reference to two prominent leaders of Enugu State, (Senator Chimaroke Nnamani and

Governor Ugwuanyi) as murderer and thief respectively is actionable and unbecoming of a man who severally aspired to be Governor and is currently running for the seat of Enugu North Senatorial District. It is scandalous and condemnable for

Ezea to say that while Former Governor Nnamani killed people with guns, Governor Ugwuanyi is killing people with hunger.

Governor Ugwuanyi has brought even

development to all the nooks and cranies of Enugu State without a recourse to segregation and vindictiveness.

History will be kind to Governor Ugwuanyi for choosing a successor on the basis of fairness and justice.

On the other hand, history will judge Ezea harshly for using blackmail and lies against perceived political opponents to further his own interest.
