Nature has a way of exposing miscreants. When I came across the news about the town hall meeting organized by the Business Community in Enugu State giving governorship candidates the opportunity to sell their plans to attract investments and expand economic activities in the state, I felt happy as it was an opportunity for the electorate to assess their capabilities.
On November 1, 2022, Dr. Peter Mbah confidently took the first turn and as usual, dissected his manifesto, explaining its nitty gritty without mentioning the names of his opponent. His presentation was purely issue based. From his interaction, you could see in him, a vibrant, intelligent, educated, experienced young innovator who has carved a niche for himself in the private sector, growing a company, Pinnacle Oil and Gas Ltd from scratch to the dominant player and market leader in the downstream petroleum sector in Nigeria.
Fast-forward to November 4, when it was the turn of Uche Nnaji, the shadowy APC governorship candidate, the reverse was the case. Nnaji had earlier tried all he could to dodge the occasion by sending his running mate, George Ogara to represent him as usual. But even his aides warned that it would attract censure to their already lackluster campaign. He was literally forced to appear in person, his first public engagement with an independent minded audience.
At the meeting, Uche Nnaji left no one in doubt that he is drab and shallow and has little or nothing to offer Ndi Enugu. Instead of dwelling on his blueprint for Enugu State, if he had any, Uche Nnaji came on stage and spent over 80 percent of his time spewing out diatribes against the candidate of PDP, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
Uche Nnaji's poor outing buttresses the saying that "you can't give what you don't have". A man who claimed to be a university graduate, and aspiring to occupy the Lion Building could not articulate policy objectives and implementable plan to present at such important meeting.
In his speech, he was quoted as arrogantly saying that “I’m the only businessman running for governorship; the PDP candidate is not a businessman, he did not grow in business, he only jammed (sic) money and started oil marketing..."
Obviously, Uche Nnaji is jealous of the mind blowing achievements and breakthroughs of Dr. Peter Mbah in the Oil and Gas sector. Peter we know, started his Oil and Gas business from a one-room studio office apartment, and by dint of hardwork, business acumen and ingenuity, he built Pinnacle Oil and Gas Ltd into a conglomerate with business interests across the globe, an achievement Nnaji can only dream of.
The dumb skull governorship flag bearer of the APC kept hammering on establishing a state owned investment bank. The question is, why wait to be a governor before establishing a bank, since he said funding is not his problem? The answer is not farfetched, he is probably planning to use such means to scam people and make away with their money but his fraudulent plan is dead on arrival.
A man who claimed to be a real oil business mogul contradicted himself on the same stage by saying he has multi billion dollar companies ranging from pharmaceutical and hospital equipment supply, construction as well as oil and gas company. I call him jack of all trades, master of none.
What it means is that Uche Nnaji is just a vendor in different business areas. He is not different from the typical commission agent hustling at Onitsha Main Market (Onye oso afia). He should tell us where his claimed multi-billion dollar companies are located or provide the names so that we can Google them.
The nincompoop called Uche Nnaji said the roads in Enugu State are not up to 5,000 kilometers. That is laughable, especially coming from a moron who claims to be a road construction engineer and contractor in Imo state. It shows that he doesn't even have rudimentary knowledge of his supposed field of expertise, Uche Nnaji is only interested in using his construction company to help his partner in crime, Hope Uzodimma to siphon and launder colloidal state funds from the coffers of Imo state, but justice will soon catch up with them.
A man who has been fingered to be a drug dealer is daydreaming to be the governor of Enugu State now that the state is yearning for a consummate technocrat with proven capability.
Ndi Enugu have seen the abysmal performance of Uche Nnaji and he will hear from us at the poll; he will get the result of his disgraceful outing and infantile outbursts on the day of election.
