THE COMMISSIONER FOR AGRICULTURE AND THE COUNCIL CHAIRMAN VISITS THE CASSAVA PRODUCTION AND PROCESSING ZONE IN ANINRI

On the 20th September 2023 the Executive Chairman of Aninri local government, Hon.Chief Benneth Ajah led a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture Enugu State to inspect the ongoing Agro Allied Company in Aninri Local government Area to ascertain the level of activities in the site.

The delegation which comprised of the Commissioner for Agriculture Hon. Patrick Nwabueze Ubru, the President General of Ekoli Town Union, Hon. Mark Ogbonna JP, the Chief of Staff Aninri Local Government, Hon. Dr. Martins Elechi among others , inspected the ongoing cassava plantation .

The Commissioner with his team patiently went round the site of over 15000HT. Praised Hon, Benneth Aja for his commitment and prudent management of the little resources given the enormous achievement on the ground, he has exceeded expectations and he can see that his staff has the same energy in him, the importance of this company can not be overemphasized given the state government's determination to revamp the Agricultural sector, increase food sufficiency and quadruple Enugu State internal revenue especially with the need to diversify the economy through commercial and mechanized agriculture

The Executive Chairman of Aninri Hon. Chief Benneth Ajah who showed palpable excitement for the success recorded, thanked the governor Dr. Barr Peter Mbah for his overall commitment to the project, and equally appreciated the commitment and dedication of his team on the project that has resulted to the progress made so far. the Executive Chairman reiterated that over 15,000 hectares have been planted with cassava and soya beans, and he is still moving further, since the government will make provision for more caterpillars and tractors to ensure fast and steady work.

The Council Chairman seized the opportunity to meet some of the host community leaders of Uhuezoke Okpanku and told the community leaders to take advantage of the kind gestures of the governor, Barr, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, also inform them that the government will come for other necessary agreement.

The president general Hon. Mark Ogbonna among others who spoke on behalf of the communities expressed their readiness to cooperate with the state government to achieve this laudable project.

When this project is complete, Aninri will become one of the 3 most industrialized communities in Enugu in terms of commercial Agriculture. This will drive employment, product exhortation and high increased levesl of multilayer economic activities in Aninri.
