The visit came even as the PDP officially commenced her campaign today, starting from Aninri LGA.

The leader of the group, Hon. Chisa Celestine Onah in his remark noted that their visit was driven by the fact that Dr. Peter Mbah has regards for the former councilors.

According to Onah, "today is a remarkable day because we have come to form synergize with you, because you as the incoming Governor have recognized the former Councilors by approving this meeting with you. This shows that you know the worth, capacity and value of these great men and women who have contested and won elections in their various political wards.

He informed Mbah that the former councilors have gathered experiences as grassroot politicians, and know how best to convince the electorate at the local level to accept a good candidate like Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

Expressing their confidence in the candidacy of Barr. Mbah, Onah stated that "because of the strong conviction we have in you (Mbah) that you are going to positively transform Enugu State, we have come to offer ourselves for your service during the campaign and election period.

Another member of the group, Hon. Princess Eziamaka Ezeugwu noted that they only came to have a family discussion with Dr. Mbah because they already considered themselves as part of the Peter Mbah Campaign Organization.

She told the PDP governorship candidate that the Association of former Councilors of Enugu North Senatorial Zone had before now, started grassroots campaign but decided to come and have an interaction with the incoming governor and receive further guide and directives on what to do to assist in the campaign to ensure landslide victory for PDP.

Also speaking, another member of the group, Hon. Onyinyechi Ozioko appealed to Dr. Mbah to carry them along in his government when he assumes office.

Addressing the gathering, the State Chairman of PDP, Hon. Augustine Nnamani pointed out that he was once a councilor and therefore appreciated the efforts of the former councilors in throwing their weight behind the PDP governorship candidate.

He advised them not to worry about tomorrow, because "Tomorrow Is Here." Describing Mbah as a man who accommodates everyone and does not segregate, Nnamani called on them to pursue the Peter Mbah governorship project with all seriousness and passion because "at the end, everyone will rejoice."

Responding, Dr. Mbah observed that "Enugu State is unique because it has an investment model, which is going to yield profit in seven folds." Mbah reiterated his administration's plan to increase the GDP of the state from $4.4Bn to $30Bn in 8 years.

Advising them not to allow anyone to deceive them, Mbah stressed that his government would work towards achieving zero percent poverty rate.

Commending the former councilors for their support, Mbah acknowledged that "no other persons are closer to the people more than the former councilors”, assuring them that those who work for the actualization of his government will not be neglected but will be fully carried along when he assumes office.

He encouraged them not to relent in their efforts to convince those at the grassroots to vote for PDP.

The PDP governorship candidate while educating the audience on the new BIVAS, told the group that henceforth, they should consider themselves as canvassers and should return to their various communities to market the rich manifesto of the PDP.

He assured them of his availability for continuous future engagements and prayed for their safe return to their destinations.
